The soul of refined rum
The name: a reconciliation of English and French, typical of the Mauritian way of speaking.
The English term “Oaks’’: refers to the oak barrels – the common denominator of all exceptionally aged spirits; also the cradle where the concert of aromas and explosion of flavours come to life.
The French term “Âmes”: means souls – it symbolises the personal investment of human efforts and care put into the crafting of these exceptional rums, as well as the essence of the oak’s – that it exhales into the spirit over the time that it cradles it. Last but not least, “Oaks and Âmes’’ is a phonetical allusion to the Oxenham family name.
