The story of the Thirsty Fox begins with Fabien and Cedric Oxenham, two cousins, colleagues and friends united by a thirst for real beer. Having sampled craft beer the world over, they dreamt of creating distinctive, consistently delicious brews that reflected the easy-going Mauritian lifestyle without ever compromising on quality.

And so, with the support of a passionate and knowledgeable team, led by its Master Brewer, Jorg Finkeldey, they set off on an adventure to create Mauritius’ finest craft brewery. At the Thirsty Fox, we take pride in doing things the old-fashioned way. Only the finest malted barley and whole-picked hops will do for us. We brew our beers in small batches and take eight weeks to do it. Like we said, we’re island people – we take our time with the important stuff.
The result: a range of dependably delectable, easy-drinking craft brews jam-packed with personality and flavor – a liquid tribute to laid-back island living.

But why the Thirsty Fox, you ask? Well, we labelled a testing vat with Fabien Oxenham’s initials, and the name stuck. It must be said he and Cedric are crafty fellas, and they’re always in the mood for a proper beer.
